Asian Web surfers most aggressive online - Nielsen/NetRatings

The latest release by Nielsen//NetRatings reports that people of Hispanic origin are the fastest growing at-home ethnic group on the Web. Hispanics are also the third largest ethnic group online.

The news for us is: Asian or Pacific Islander with 2.4 million increased by 6% over last years 2.2 million. The report also says that Asian Web surfers posted the most aggressive consumption. They initiated 26 Internet sessions, spending more than 16 hours online in June, recording eight percent and 17 percent growth, respectively. On an average, Asian accessed 1,364 Web pages last month, jumping 11 percent.

Not surprisingly, Yahoo! happens to be the most visited web brands. A heartening inclusion in the top ten web brands is a news site - no points for guess the right one – CNN makes it at number ten.

Overall, the Web population grew a mere three percent, year-over-year to nearly 105 million unique Internet users in June, 2002.

Asians are showing a healthy appetite online. That’s not bad news at all.
